WHO IS TEAM DECONSTRUCTED?

We are a Team who plays in Team Constructed and other constructed events in the Central Jersey area.

Alex Estes- I am a senior in high school, and when I’m not focusing on college, I’m dedicating myself to magic. I began playing magic around when Khans of Tarkir was released, so about 5 years. Initially, I was focused more around the casual aspect of the game, which shows in my love for commander/EDH. My first foray into the more competitive aspect of the game was with standard, where I began playing in tournaments during Kaladesh Standard. Since then, I have been an avid enthusiast of standard, enamored by the constantly rotating card pool and viability of so many unique deck strategies. Recently, I have also been taking an interest in Modern, where the challenge of playing against some of the most blisteringly fast decks in the game while attempting to use more fair decks keeps me constantly thinking and analyzing. I have a soft spot in my heart for control, midrange, and other fair decks. Right now, I am playing Esper Tempo in standard, Mardu Pyromancer in Modern, and a host of decks ranging from casual to competitive in Commander, showcasing my love of interactive gameplay and fair magic.

Andree Dauphinee - Librarian, Nerd, and proud host of NerdFest at his abode.  My history with magic dates back to 4th edition, but I was just a young pup at that point, enamored by the art and the cool creatures on the cards.  Too young to fully comprehend the game, I casually got back into it during the Onslaught Block.  We used to set aside 7th period in highschool for massive multiplayer games, but college and other things took my focus away.  I got back into Magic seriously during Kaladesh and have been playing ever since.  I started with Limited to wet my feet again, moved to Standard and competed in my first GP at Pittsburg in 2018, 1 game shy of Day 2.  After seeing Hollow One in Modern, I knew where my new home was.  For 2 years now, I've been swept up by the sheer power and diversity of Modern and currently play competitively in both individual and team events when I can.

Derek Gabriel - Ambitious Goblins player. First discovered Magic because of a teacher in High School and got hooked with Commander. Quickly I found myself playing almost only control and combo decks but wanted something a little more versatile. When I was introduced to Legacy I watched a friend playing Elves against Grixis Delver and I immediately tried to find a deck that spoke to me. At first, I thought that Lands was the deck for me but the price of the deck quickly drove me away. I played Oops All Spells in the Legacy side events at GP NJ 2017 but after playing against nearly 10 Death and Taxes decks in the weekend I wanted something different. I stumbled upon the archetype that I have since tried to make a deck for in every format. Goblins. I played Goblins with Andrew at SCG Philly 2018 and at one of the few Legacy Grand Prixs at Richmond in 2018. I also play honorary Goblins decks with TES in Legacy and Gifts Storm in Modern (still trying to make Vial Goblins the best it can be in Modern).
